One of four people to escape the Drumming Hill Youth Centre April 4 has been caught and sentenced to secure custody.
The individual, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, had been serving in open custody until the end of the month. He escaped the facility and was located by RCMP hiding in the basement at a residence located outside the city.
Judge David Kaiser sentenced the individual Tuesday to a term of 45 days - 30 in secure custody and 15 in the community, running concurrent to his current sentence.
Of the three others who escaped the facility, it was indicated in court Tuesday that one was picked up in Meadow Lake while the other two individuals are still at large.
