North Battleford RCMP responded to more than 70 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12.
Police also made seven arrests relating to alcohol offences. Other matters included five false or nuisance 911 calls, 11 alarms responded to, four child welfare investigations, three minor disturbances, six traffic investigations, five Mental Health Act investigations, three bylaw matters, two minor collisions and three other missing persons who were located.
Police are seeking information into the following incidents:
Friday
• Report of an assault on the 1400 block of 102nd Street at 11:47 a.m. Suspect was already gone from residence at time of call. The victim sustained a minor injury but did not require any medical attention. Investigation is still ongoing and charges are currently pending.
• A 36-year-old man was arrested and is facing charges of assault and uttering threats after a call to a residence on St. Laurent Drive shortly before 2 p.m. The victim was not injured during the incident. The man remains in custody and will make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday.
• A 911 call was received shortly before 9 p.m., caller reporting her keys stuck in a tree. Warning given about misuse of the 911 emergency phone system.
Saturday
• Report of mischief. A group home on 111th Street had several eggs thrown around inside sometime over the previous night.
• A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm after an incident outside a business on Heritage Way shortly after noon. The accused was captured on surveillance video approaching the victim and striking him in the face, causing a significant injury which required several stitches to treat. The accused and victim are known to each other. The accused remains in custody and is to appear in court Monday.
• Two-vehicle collision on 104th Street at 2:27 p.m. One vehicle sustained significant damage and had to be towed from scene. Charges of failing to yield under the Traffic Safety Act pursued against one of the drivers.
• Members called to a residence on Trudeau Street at 3:14 p.m. after a report of an assault. Investigation revealed it to be an argument between two adults known to each other. No charges being pursued.
Sunday
• Sometime overnight a vehicle parked on 101st Street was struck by an unknown vehicle. Parked vehicle sustained frontend damage, suspect vehicle believed to be red.
• Break and enter to a business reported on Thatcher Avenue. Stolen property reported includes an ice auger and a compound saw. Incident occurred sometime over the weekend.
• An 18-year-old was reported missing shortly after 1 p.m. Last seen on 106th Street on Saturday morning. He has since been located safe.
• A brey 2008 Chevrolet Impala, with Saskatchewan licence 958 JCJ, reported stolen from Deans Crescent at 2:22 p.m. Suspect believed to have been visiting the residence earlier and stole vehicle while occupants were sleeping.
