Between 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 and 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, Battlefords RCMP responded to over 100 calls for service, including:
Thursday
• Report of an assault made at 10:48 a.m. that had occurred two weeks earlier at a residence in Battleford. All parties known to each other. Investigation still ongoing.
• Two-vehicle collision at 10th Avenue and 108th Street reported at 11:46 a.m. A vehicle lost control and struck a parked car. Driver of the vehicle charged under the Traffic Safety Act with driving without due care.
• Report of an assault having occurred on the Moosomin First Nation several weeks earlier. Investigation ongoing.
• Call of an assault at a residence on the 700 block of 101st Street at 11:00 p.m. Victim would not co-operate with investigation and no charges are being pursued.
• A 17-year-old youth was arrested and is facing charges of failing to comply with probation and failing to comply with an undertaking after being located shortly after 11 p.m. in the Cochin area.
• A 38-year-old man was arrested and is facing a charge of refusing to provide a breath sample and impaired driving after a report of a single-vehicle collision on 100th Street at 11:35 p.m.
• A 26-year-old woman was arrested and is facing charges of care and control while impaired and care and control while over .08 after a vehicle check on the Highway 16 bypass at 11:54 p.m.
Friday
• Members were called to a residence on Panton Avenue shortly after 7 a.m. after a report of fights and a loud party. Upon arrival an allegation of a sexual assault was made and a 29-year-old man was arrested. He is facing charges at this time of sexual assault and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
• Report of an attempted theft of gasoline from rural area near Battleford at 9:25 a.m. The perpetrator cut off locks but did not take any gasoline. Believed to have occurred some time over the previous night.
• Single vehicle rollover reported on 7th Avenue near 102nd Street at 10:50 a.m. Upon arrival, all occupants of vehicle had fled scene. Investigation is ongoing.
• Call of a two-vehicle collision at 3:56 p.m. at 100th Street and 11th Avenue. No serious injuries. Both vehicles towed from scene with significant damage.
• A blue 2002 GMC Envoy with license 251 JQH reported stolen from the 1800 block of 101st Street shortly before 4 p.m.
• Reported shoplifting incident from a business on 100th Street at 5:48 p.m. Male suspect already gone from scene, investigation is ongoing.
• Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating Leora Falcon, 14. She was reported missing at 6 p.m. and was last seen at school at approximately noon. She is believed to be in the company of one or two of her friends and is believed to be in the Cut Knife or North Battleford area.
• Police called to a residence on the 800 block of 108th Street at 8:08 p.m. after a 911 call of a male suffering from stab wounds. A 31-year-old man was transported to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The victim was conscious and alert but would not co-operate with investigation. Eight persons from the residence were taken into custody, however, no charges have been laid at this time. Alcohol was a factor in the incident which remains under investigation.
• At 8:12 p.m. a report made of damage to a window at a home on the 1800 block of 101st Street.
Sunday
• Report of a break and enter to a Quonset south of Battleford made at 12:31 a.m. Believed to have occurred some time during the last 12 hours or more. Large amount of fuel reported stolen.
• A male was arrested after a vehicle stop on 103rd Street at 2:46 a.m. He is facing charges of impaired driving and driving while over .08.
• A woman was arrested and is facing charges that include resisting arrest after a call at 3:08 a.m. of a vehicle in the ditch near Delmas with a woman sleeping behind the wheel. Investigation still ongoing at this time.
• Police also arrested 19 people on alcohol related matters, responded to six false or nuisance 911 calls, five disturbance complaints, four Mental Health Act complaints, 19 traffic investigations, two bylaw matters, three minor collisions, five alarms and child welfare investigations.
