Erratic driver report leads to DUI charges

There were over 30 calls for service/occurrences responded to by Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Sunday, March 16 and 6 a.m. Monday, March 17 Among those calls were two false alarms and three nuisance 911 calls. Sunday 7:00 a.m.

Among those calls were two false alarms and three nuisance 911 calls.


Sunday


7:00 a.m. - Police called to residence on Bowers Drive requested to remove an unwanted intoxicated 21-year-old woman. The intoxicated woman left on her own prior to police arriving.


11:34 a.m. - Police responded to shoplifting call at a local business. A 51-year-old man was arrested and charged with stealing a bottle of mouthwash.


1:11 p.m. - Responded to a theft complaint at a residence on the 1700 block of Trudeau Street. Upon arrival police found two subjects, a 46-year-old man and a 18-year-old man both suffering from extensive injuries suffered in an assault. Investigation is on going.


1:49 p.m. - Report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 16. No injuries and both vehicles driveable. Alcohol was not a factor. Investigation is still on going.


2:20 p.m. - Report of an erratic driver in the Fairview area. A white Dodge pickup truck was seen off-road driving in the park. Investigation is on going.


2:28 p.m. - 911 complaint. A 21-year-old woman caller advises her cell phone was stolen sometime last night while at a party. Address of the party was unknown.


4:19 p.m. - Request made from a 23-year-old woman for police to attend residence on the 1700 block of 110th Street to help keep the peace during a dispute over property.


6:05 p.m. - Police responded to an address located on the 2000 block of 101st Street of an assault. Investigation revealed an intoxicated 41-year-old man assaulted a 38-year-old woman. Investigation is on going.


7:22 p.m. - Report of a 29-year-old woman assaulting a 21-year-old woman at an address located on Bowers Drive. Police investigation resulted in the 29-year-old woman being charged with assault and she was released for future court date.


7:38 p.m. - Police responded to domestic dispute on the 1600 block of 102nd Street. 40-year-old intoxicated man assaulted his spouse. Investigation is on going.


8:22 p.m. - Report of a man under the overpass near the movie theatre. Investigation revealed 34-year-old intoxicated man slipped on ice and required medical attention. EMS called and the man was transported to hospital.


9:54 p.m. - Report of car shoppers along Walker Drive. Three subjects wearing dark hoodies were going through vehicles.


Monday


3:24 a.m. - Report of a possible intoxicated woman driver on Railway Avenue. Police responded and arrested a 24-year-old woman for impaired driving. Further investigation revealed that the woman was also wanted by Saskatoon Police Service for impaired driving causing bodily harm. The 24-year-old woman was remanded and held for court.
