Susan Campbell was going into Tisdale from Bjorkdale through the way that passes the Tisdale Middle & Secondary School football field and saw what she thought was a 3-D target of a bull.
Then it moved.
“All of a sudden, it turned and it was pounding on one of the [pieces of tackle practice equipment]. It was pounding the heck out of it. It was kind of funny,” she said. “It made the day.”
The bull had temporarily got away from the Northeast Veterinary Services at around 11 a.m. Jan. 17. He was soon contained and put into a trailer.
The school saw the animal and contacted the clinic.
“We told them to stay indoors and not to approach it and if there’s ever a situation like that to inform the police and not to approach them, because they’re probably out of their element and they’re not going to behave like a normal herd animal would when they are by themselves and in a strange environment,” said Dr. Karen Sigfrid. “They could be dangerous.”
The bull is now safe.
