SASKATOON — Hail, almost the size of marbles, accompanied a heavy downpour late Thursday.
Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning in Saskatoon earlier. The storm was south of the city and was moving east at 50 kilometres per hour.
The hail lasted for about five minutes, while rain poured down, and the sound of thunder was heard in the background. Lightning was also seen, prompting several outdoor events, such as the city's soccer league, to be cancelled.
There was no reported damage to properties as of posting time.
It was reported that Estevan and Regina had separate tornado warnings, and the Estevan area had a tornado touchdown.
