A 30-year-old woman has died after a single vehicle accident on Island Lake First Nation near Loon Lake.
On Saturday, June 6 at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Loon Lake Detachment of the RCMP received a call from the St. Walburg EMS stating they were dispatched and were en route to a call of an unconscious and not breathing female who was involved in a motor vehicle accident.
Members of the Loon Lake Detachment of the RCMP responded to the call, to learn that a 30-year-old woman, who was the back seat passenger in the vehicle, had fallen out, and was run over by the vehicle as it was reversing direction of travel.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This accident remains under investigation at this time. Names are not being released.
