Festival of Wreaths

Since they began a couple weeks ago, the Humboldt & District Museum and Gallery has seen a positive response from the community for their annual Festival of Wreaths.

They’ve received a number of different items, such as gift baskets, quilted table runners, toys, artwork etc.

“We’ve had great support from local businesses,” said Annah Gullacher, one of the organizers for the festival. “We’ve also got a new thing this year, called the Jingle Bottle Raffle.”

The way the raffle works is that there are quite a few wine bottles wrapped up and placed on a table. Anyone (of legal drinking age, obviously) can come in and purchase a cork. Depending on what bottle the number on the cork corresponds to, that person wins that bottle.

“We’ve got some really expensive bottles and some homemade ones, so you don’t know which you’ll get,” said Gullacher. “But everyone gets a bottle.”

While the response for receiving items has been great, Gullacher is just hoping now that more people come out and bid. Unfortunately, she fears the weather has been keeping people at home as of late.

Nevertheless, volunteers from Friends of the Museum will be at the gallery regularly to help staff the festival and keep the bidding open until Dec. 6.
