Fifteen-year-olds face a whack of charges

North Battleford RCMP responded to more than 110 calls over a three-day period - 6 a.m. Friday, May 23 to 6 a.m. Monday, May 26.


Among those calls were six false/nuisance 911 calls, seven traffic complaints, nine false alarms and nine municipal bylaw complaints.


Friday


8:17 a.m. - Vehicle parked on 1900 block of 92nd Street had a window damaged and some items stolen from inside sometime overnight.


8:22 a.m. - Red 2005 Chevrolet Optra with no plates stolen from 102nd Street.


9:21 a.m. - Vehicle on Deans Crescent gone through overnight, nothing taken.


9:26 a.m. - Vehicle on 1900 block of 96th Street gone through overnight, small amount of cash and DVD player taken.


2:55 p.m. - Child welfare complaint of abuse allegation. Initial investigation not consistent with any physical abuse having taken place, matter still under investigation.


3:46 p.m. - 49-year-old woman arrested for mischief after complaint of intoxicated person in a yard on 108th Street. Held in custody until sober.


8:00 p.m. - 31-year-old man arrested and charged with mischief and three counts of breach of probation after damaging property at a business on 101st Street. Remanded into custody and set to make his first appearance May 26.


8:06 p.m. - Report of intoxicated man wandering around on 13th Avenue then settling down on a pile of dirt. A 50-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman both arrested for public intoxication and held in custody until sober.


9:32 p.m. - Report of two men fighting at a bar. One 30-year-old was arrested for causing a disturbance and held in custody until sober. No charges pursued.


Saturday


1:42 a.m. - Report of a man rummaging through a vehicle. Fled when complainant noticed him.


2:00 a.m. - 911 call of a fight in an apartment building on Winder Crescent. Three persons arrested on scene, all quite intoxicated. 30-year-old man arrested for assault, no charges pursued due to lack of cooperation for witnesses. A 23-year-old woman arrested for outstanding warrants. A 27-year-old woman was arrested after providing someone else's name who also happened to be on conditions not to consume alcohol. True identity then confirmed, and subject now facing charge of obstruction and failing to comply with undertaking.


3:20 a.m. - A 23-year-old woman arrested and charged with impaired driving after a vehicle stop on 101st Street.


3:28 a.m. - Theft of a truck reported, later recovered. Three male youths, 14, 15 and 17 later identified as responsible. Further details on accused at end of this release.


4:08 a.m. - Theft of gas from a business on 100th Street. No available description of suspect vehicle.


4:50 a.m. - Report of an assault in progress on Winder Crescent. A 26-year-old man was arrested on scene and has been charged with one count of assault. Victim did not sustain serious injuries.


5:05 a.m. - Report of youth witnessed damaging a vehicle window then running down 106th Street. Perpetrator not located.


5:23 a.m. - Break and enter to a garage on 104th Street, suspect fled when alarm activated.


5:26 a.m. - Report of a man breaking out a window to a residence on 500 block of 102nd Street. A 19-year-old man was located and was arrested a short time later, facing one count of mischief.


6:06 a.m. - Complainant having a party and now one guest refusing to leave. Subjects were arguing over missing money. Suspect driven home by members to avoid further problems.


6:58 a.m. - Report of a vehicle tire punctured while parked on Foley Drive overnight.


7:10 a.m. - 33-year-old man arrested after located by patrolling members sleeping on someone's lawn.


10:09 a.m. - 18-year-old man arrested and charged with failing to comply with probation order after a complaint of an intoxicated and unwanted guest refusing to leave a residence on 102nd Street.


10:42 a.m. - Vehicle window damaged while parked on 106th Street overnight.


12:03 p.m. - Caller asking for advice about what to do, as the people she was babysitting for have not paid her yet. It was decided she would probably not babysit for them again.


12:50 p.m. - Members called to 100th Street on report of a very intoxicated woman who can barely stand and stumbling into traffic. 43-year-old woman was located and arrested and now facing charges of assaulting a police officer and two counts of breach of probation. She has since been released from custody and will make her first court appearance in North Battleford June 23.


2:09 p.m. - Vehicle parked on 1400 block of 107th Street gone through overnight, tools reported stolen.


2:51 p.m. - Break and enter to a residence on 103rd Street, believed to have occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m.


4:07 p.m. - Report of two men ordering drinks at a bar and leaving without paying.


5:10 p.m. - Theft of a bike from 18th Avenue, occurred some time in past five days. Described as a blue Nakamira Monster.


9:17 p.m. - 49-year-old woman arrested and charged with public intoxication after complaint of intoxicated woman on 9th Avenue.


9:27 p.m. - 49-year-old woman arrested and charged with public intoxication located heavily intoxicated on 102nd Street.


10:28 p.m. - Complaint of intoxicated people causing a disturbance on Railway Avenue East. Two men, 44 and 45 arrested. 44-year-old man charged with breach of probation and failing to comply with undertaking. 45-year-old man charged with failing to comply with undertaking.


Saturday


12:12 a.m. - 15-year-old girl reported missing. Ran away from mother when she attended to 104th Street to pick her up. She was located Monday morning by RCMP and returned home.


1:29 a.m. - 21-year-old man arrested for public intoxication after subject's mother called and subject was trying to jump out of moving vehicle while he was being driven home.


5:20 a.m. - Stolen vehicle located driving on 100th Street. Vehicle fled from police, later located and suspects identified. A 15-year-old  girl has been charged with possession of stolen property and resisting arrest. A 14-year-old girl has been charged with possession of stolen property. Both were passengers in the vehicle. 15-year-old male driver charged with multiple offences associated to this and other matters, including flight from police, resisting arrested and two counts of breach of probation. 10:10 p.m. - Members came upon a break and enter in progress to a business. Suspect fled in a red Grand Prix with an Alberta License. Pursuit abandoned on bridges on Highway 16, suspect vehicles heading towards Alberta.


10:22 p.m. - 15-year-old girl reported missing from Martin Crescent. Kara Baptiste is described as being about 5' 3", 110lbs, thin with dark brown hair and brown eyes. Initial attempts to locate have all been negative.


11:16 p.m. - 14-year-old youth charged with failing to comply with curfew after check on 114th Street.


Sunday


12:21 a.m. -Three suspicious persons reported checking out vehicles on Cardinal Crescent. Patrols of area negative. No reports of vehicles entered.


1:04 a.m. - Hit and run on Winder Crescent. Suspect vehicle fled after striking two parked cars. Suspect vehicle located a short time later and two suspects, ages 16 and 19, arrested and remain in custody, charges are still pending.


5:10 a.m. - Residential break and enter reported, happened between 4pm and 9pm the previous evening at a residence on 1300 block of 107th Street.


Multiple Charges Against Youth


A 15-year-old youth is facing multiple charges involving numerous property crimes from the previous month, including two matters reported over the weekend involving a stolen vehicle and brief pursuit.


A second 15-year-old youth as also facing numerous charges in relation to these activities.


Both facing break and enter charges in connection with a home break and enter May 19 at 3:59 a.m. on the 1600 block of 101st Street where the homeowners were awakened by the suspects while committing the offence. Police say the youth were also involved in several other break and enters to garages reported earlier in the month of May.


The first 15-year-old youth has been charged with multiple offences including but not limited to possession of stolen property, flight from police, resisting arrest, eight counts of break and enter to a residence and seven counts of failing to comply with probation.


The second 15-year-old has been also charged with eight counts of break and enter to a residence and is also facing numerous other charges.


Both are in police custody and appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday. Further charges are still pending.
