One of two accused in last year's Sept. 1 shooting incident in North Battleford will return to court June 12, possibly for a resolution of the case.

Justin Fineday appeared in provincial court Thursday before Judge Lloyd Deshaye. In his latest appearance, the previous information against Fineday was withdrawn and new information was presented, charging Fineday with aggravated assault, using a firearm to commit an assault, possessing a prohibited weapon and an unauthorized weapon charge.

Defence counsel indicated they were hoping for a resolution of the case by the next court date.

Fineday is remanded until that time and is to appear in person, and no-contact orders are still in place.

The co-accused in the case, Valen Nicotine, also remains in custody. His case is due back in provincial court June 4.
