Five charged after Monday incident

Two wanted on warrants

ONION LAKE FIRST NATION — Five men are facing multiple charges after Onion Lake RCMP  responded to a complaint of an assault at a residence on the Onion Lake Cree Nation Monday morning.

Three are in custody but warrants have been issued for Gene Tyler Takakenew, 36, Warren Littlewolfe, 25, who have not been located by police.

Takakenew, Littlewolfe, Calvin Carter, 46, Trevor Carter, 27, and Loewen Wolfe, 26, all of Onion Lake Cree Nation,  are facing criminal code charges of aggravated assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats and committing an offence for the benefit of a criminal organization. Wolfe is also charged with assault with a weapon.

Police say the Emergency Response Team, two Police Dog Service units and additional members from surrounding detachments responded, because it was determined firearms may have been at the residence.

Nine people were arrested during the investigation, seven men and two women.

The public is asked to contact Onion Lake RCMP if they have information about the location of Littlewolfe and Takakenew.

Calvin Carter, Trevor Carter and Wolfe appeared in Onion Lake Provincial Court Wednesday.

Onion Lake RCMP express their thanks to the public for their co-operation throughout the incident.
