Four charged in connection with Tisdale break-ins

TISDALE — Four people have been charged in connection to the break-ins at the Falkon Theatre and Wicks’ Gas Bar. Not all four received charges for being connected with both crimes. Three of the four are youth.

TISDALE — Four people have been charged in connection to the break-ins at the Falkon Theatre and Wicks’ Gas Bar.

The adult, Brendin Edworthy, 23, is charged with break and enter at Wicks’ Gas Bar, where cigarettes and tobacco products were stolen, and at the Tisdale Riverside Golf Course. He’s also being charged with possession of stolen property.  He made his first appearance at Tisdale Provincial Court July 3.The break-in at the Falkon Theatre was done during the night on April 4 or 5 and saw $200 worth of candy stolen. The break-in at Wicks’ Gas Bar was June 15.

“The investigation culminated in a search warrant being executed on a residence on July 2,” said Sgt. Daryl Andrusiak, the Tisdale RCMP’s commanding officer. He added that more stolen property was discovered as a result of the search and the police are trying to find where it came from. Stolen property recovered from the search warrant included cell phones, knives and wallets.

Two of the youth are to appear in Tisdale Provincial Court in August. One youth has entered guilty pleas to their charges and received an open custody sentence.
