Garage fire

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a major fire in a garage on 107th Street Tuesday. The call came in to NBFES around 10:40 p.m. The fire department report the blaze happened on the 1200 block of 107th Street.

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a major fire in a garage on 107th Street Tuesday.

The call came in to NBFES around 10:40 p.m. The fire department report the blaze happened on the 1200 block of 107th Street.

On arrival they found a garage engulfed in flames. The fire was quickly extinguished, but crews also had to deal with downed power lines.

Five apparatus and 15 personnel responded from NBFES, who were on the scene for almost two hours. Other agencies on the scene were the RCMP, EMS, and SaskPower.

The garage sustained extensive damage, according to the fire department. The cause is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

That was not the only fire that NBFES responded to Tuesday. At around 11:33 p.m., they were called to a dumpster fire on the 1400 block of 108th Street.

One apparatus - a brush truck - and three personnel responded to the scene and were there approximately 22 minutes. RCMP were on the scene as well. No damage was reported, and there were no injuries.
