According to Humboldt RCMP, a REACT garbage truck hit a power pole in the alley of the 600 block of Main St., behind Shopper's Drug Mart, just after 5 a.m. on February 23.
The pole was knocked over, and power to about 350 customers west of Main St. up to 17th St. was knocked out. The power outage was reported at 5:20 a.m., SaskPower stated.
Crews were dispatched immediately, and power to the majority of customers in Humboldt was restored just before 8 a.m., stated Shawn Silzer of SaskPower.
However, the power was out for about 80 per cent of the 600 block of Main St. and 9th St. until about 5 p.m., when SaskPower service personnel completed the replacement of the pole and repairs to the line.
