On May 7 at approximately 10 p.m., Battlefords RCMP were called to the Sweetgrass First Nation for multiple calls of grass fires being set in multiple locations.
When RCMP arrived on scene, there were several large grass fires going on and a number of residences that had to be evacuated.
Witnesses indicated that an ATV was observed in the area where the fires were set.
No residences were lost, however emergency services were spent several hours ensuring the public were kept safe.
Battlefords RCMP are requesting that anyone with information regarding these fires to please contact the Detachment or Crimestoppers.
