HUMBOLDT — The groomed trails of the Naicam SnowBlasters are not for ATV and 4x4 trucks to travel on, the Humboldt RCMP would like to remind the public.
“The divots created by unauthorized vehicles can be hazardous to the snowmobilers and damages the trails groomed and maintained by the snowmobile club,” the police said in a media release.
Unauthorized vehicles, including ATVs, seen on the snowmobile trails can be issued a fine of $175 as per section 20.01(1) of the Snowmobile Act.
The Humboldt RCMP added they’d like to remind snowmobile drivers that when snowmobiling they are on a motor vehicle and that the same impaired driving laws apply to snowmobiles as they do to automobiles.
“Stay sober, keep yourself and others safe on the trails,” the police said. “Enjoy the snow.”
