What was reported as gunshots at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in North Battleford, turned out to be fireworks.


Battlefords RCMP investigating the complaint of shots heard in the east-central area of the city found the remains of freshly discharged "cherry bomb" fireworks near the street in the area.


The investigation is ongoing to identify the individual(s) responsible for setting off the fireworks.
