A Hafford man facing child pornography offences was released on bail.

Kelly Beleznay, 55, had show cause hearings scheduled in Saskatoon Provincial Court June 5 and June 9. A release order was issued after his June 9 appearance.

Beleznay was arrested June 2 after the Saskatchewan ICE unit, with assistance from Blaine Lake RCMP, executed a search warrant at a home in Hafford. Beleznay was charged with accessing and possessing child pornography.

RCMP say the residence was identified as the location where child pornography offences were occurring. They started an investigation in February after receiving what they called “many complaints” about a person accessing child pornography through a popular Internet browser.

During the search, police found child pornography at the home. They seized a laptop and USB storage devices for further forensic analysis.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.

Beleznay is now scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court Aug. 18.
