The RCMP, in partnership with SGI, will be conducting a traffic safety initiative known as High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) on Saskatchewan highways this upcoming weekend.
During this initiative, officers will be speaking to motorists and performing general safety checks, ensuring driver sobriety and that vehicle standards are being met, a press release states. They will also be checking that each driver has up-to-date licence and registration. The stops are planned for high traffic routes and smaller, less travelled roads around the province and will occur any time, day or night, policy say.
The RCMP remind motorists to slow to 60 km/h when passing emergency vehicles.
