Between 6 a.m. Monday, June 15 and 6 a.m. and Tuesday, June 16, North Battleford RCMP responded to approximately 37 calls for service:
Monday, June 15
- Charges of failing to comply with an undertaking are pending against a 24-year-old man after he attended a residence on the Saulteaux First Nation within an hour of being released on conditions not to attain the residence. Reported shortly after 5 p.m.
- Call on the Mosquito First Nation at 7:04 p.m. reporting damage to a TV at a residence. Suspect is known to victim.
Police arrested two persons for alcohol related offences and responded to seven traffic complaints, seven disturbance complaints, two minor collisions, one false/nuisance 911 call and two alarms.
Between 6 a.m. Saturday, June 13 and 6 a.m. and Sunday, June 14, North Battleford RCMP responded to approximately 60 calls for service:
Sunday, June 14
- Police received a 911 call from a residence on the 1900 block of St. Laurent Drive reporting two suspects attempting to gain entry to an apartment building and in possession of a firearm. One male suspect was located later on this same date and arrested without incident. Nathan Benson, 20, has been charged with break and enter, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, assault, and mischief. He made his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial court Monday, June 15. The second suspect remains at large. Both accused are known to the victims in this matter. The investigation is still ongoing.
- At 8:22 a.m. a Brown 2011 Dodge Ram with Saskatchewan License 905 CHY reported stolen from the Prongua area south of Highway 40.
- Call at 10:24 a.m. reporting a wallet stolen the previous day from a vehicle parked on Laurier Crescent.
-Report at 1:51 p.m. of an assault at a residence on the 800 block of 109th Street. As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old man was arrested for assault and choking to overcome resistance. The accused was scheduled to make his first appearance in North Battleford court on June 18. The victim and accused are known to each other.
- Shortly before 4 p.m., a break and enter was reported in rural area south of Battleford. A shop was entered and a lawnmower and fuel reported stolen.
- A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with theft Under $5,000 after a shoplifting complaint shortly after 8 p.m. from a business at the Frontier Mall.
Saturday, June 13
- Officers went to a residence after a report of a home invasion just after midnight on the 1200 block of 105 Street. One person in the home answered a knock at the front door and two males barged into the home, and went through it, looking for someone. The males realized that they were in the wrong house and apologized and left. A suspect has been identified and investigation is ongoing.
- Officers responded to a complaint at 1 a.m. on the 1400 block of 110 Street of a male in medical and/or drug-induced distress who was being violent in the home. The male was arrested and immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.
- There was a report of a collision on Scott Drive near the intersection of Douglas Avenue at 2:52 a.m. The suspect vehicle had crashed into a parked vehicle, then a curb, and had driven away. Officers located the vehicle nearby. The driver, a 42-year-old male, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
- A Grey 2003 Ford Windstar van was reported stolen from 21st Street in Battleford shortly after 8 a.m. Vehicle was taken by a suspect known to victim.
- A 28-year-old man was arrested at a residence on the 1900 block of St. Laurent Drive shortly after 6 p.m. after police were called to the residence by an occupant reporting an assault. The victim reported being punched by the suspect during the altercation. The man was charged with assault, being unlawfully in a dwelling and breach of probation X 3. He was remanded into custody and made his first appearance in North Battleford Court Monday, June 15th. He remains in custody and is scheduled to make his next appearance on Tuesday, June 23.
- Two youths, aged 14 and 15, were arrested after 11 p.m. after a report they approached a group of youth in the area of the 1700 block of 110th Street while armed with a tire iron and made off with some property. Both were located and arrested a short distance away. The 15-year-old female is charged with uttering threats X 6 and robbery with a weapon. The 14-year-old male is charged with robbery with a weapon, assault with a weapon X 6, possession of a weapon, mischief, breaching the conditions of an undertaking X 5 and breach of probation X 2. Both were remanded into custody and appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday June 15.
Friday, June 12
- At 7:12 a.m. an assault was reported at a rural residence outside of Battleford. Officers investigated the incident and determined that it had been a consensual fight between two adult males. Neither of the males had any injuries.
- Someone reported at 7:25 a.m. in a rural area of Cando that their vehicle had been lit on fire during the night and was still smoking. The matter is still being investigated.
- There was a theft reported at 7:42 a.m. from a business in Battleford. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is currently being investigated.
- Officers made patrols after a complaint at 10:51 a.m. to locate a male in a field that appeared to be struggling to get up. There was no one in the area when officers arrived.
- There was a report of a suspicious male driving around a school in North Battleford several times at 11:30 a.m. Officers located the vehicle and the driver had been trying to pick up his grandchild, but had trouble finding a place to park.
- There was a report of a theft from a business on the 1200 block of 100 Street at 11:44 a.m. There are no witnesses or suspects.
- Officers went to a residence on the 1400 block of 114 Street in response to a complaint of an assault just after noon. A 31-year-old man, known to the victim, is being charged with assault in relation to the incident. The victim did not sustain any injuries.
- A 22-year-old male was arrested and charged with uttering threats after a verbal altercation at a residence in the rural area of Battleford. The male was held in custody and appeared in court the following morning.
- At 6:18 p.m., someone reported that their vehicle was stolen and knew the man who had taken it. Officers located the vehicle and arrested the 33-year-old man and charged him with failing to comply with his probation order. He was released for court at a later date.
- There was a report of an erratic driver heading west on Highway 16 from Battleford around 6:20 p.m. The same vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle collision in Maidstone minutes later and the driver, as well as a two-year-old child sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor and the collision is still being investigated by Maidstone RCMP.
- There was a report at 9:41 p.m. of a break and enter on the 1800 block of St. Laurent Drive. Electronics and other items were stolen from the home. The matter is still under investigation.
- A mother called at 11:28 p.m. to report that her son was having a party at her house. Officers attended and arrested the male youth and charged him with breaching his probation order.
- There was a report of a male going though vehicles on the 900 block of 113 Street. Officers made patrols in the area and did not locate the suspect.
