EAST CENTRAL — After pausing school sports for a week, the Horizon School Division has allowed them to resume.
The pause took place from Oct. 27 to 30 after a case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in a person at Viscount Central School.
“During our pause on sports, we took the necessary time to review our protocols, and made an adjustment for clarity in the areas relating to participants, spectators, and transportation,” said Kevin Garinger, the divison’s director of education, in a release.
Student athletes and coaches are now required to answer two questions at each practice and game to determine if they are at risk of having the virus:
- Are you experiencing any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19?
- Have you been in contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 within the past 14 days?
If answering “yes” to either of the questions below, athletes or coaches/staff will not be permitted to participate in the activity.
