Horse trainer impresses members

Wow! It has been a crazy, busy ball. Members of the Reigning Riders 4-H Club have done a few different things. A trade show was hosted in October. Thank you to all those people who came out and supported this event.

A trade show was hosted in October. Thank you to all those people who came out and supported this event.

In November Adam Thiessen, who is a horse trainer, invited the club to his arena for the afternoon. He volunteered to work with a horse, whose name is Party, which belongs to one of our members. The horse came with a few issues. With his patience, skills, and determination Thiessen got the horse to do exactly what he wanted. He was able to get on the horse, and ride around the arena. We could not take our eyes off of Thiessen and Party. He has kindly invited us back at a later date so we can see the progress he has made with some of his colts.

The club has gone to Ebon Stables by Saskatoon to do some jumping lessons. It's not as easy as it looks, but it is so much fun. We hope to continue with some more lessons when it gets warmer. Just before Christmas, before one of our lessons, we went in a little earlier and went to Wilson's greenhouse to enjoy some sleigh rides. Thank goodness the weather co-operated. This definitely got us in the Christmas spirit!

In December we participated in the Empty Stocking Fund at the Coop Mall and Sobeys in North Battleford. Thanks to all of those generous people who gave to those in need at this special time of year. For our club's Christmas party we went to Table Mountain to do some skiing and snowboarding. The -40 C weather did not stop us. A good time was had by all, even though, we might have ended up with a few bumps and bruises. We ended our evening with a fantastic turkey dinner and gift exchange.

Congratulations to Codie Yasieniuk for winning the 4-H scholarship from District 34.

Happy New Year to all from the Reigning Rider members Codie Yasieniuk, Baylie Yasieniuk, Rayna Yasieniuk, Danica Diceman, Kelty Blais, J.C. Blais, Madison Flath, and Rhonda Erickson and all of the parents.
