Flames weren't visible from outside the home on the corner of 107th Street and 13th Avenue Thursday afternoon, but smoke filled the air. It was the second fire at the home in a one-week span and has been deemed "suspicious in nature" as RCMP investigate.

A house fire at 13th Avenue and 107th Street Thursday afternoon is currently under RCMP investigation.

It's considered "suspicious in nature" as the second fire at the house in a one-week span, but no cause has been determined. A week before, a lamp tipped over in the basement of the home, which appears to be where Thursday's fire started as well.

This week's fire had 14 members of the North Battleford Fire Department on scene for more than two hours. Damage is pegged at $85,000, but no injuries were sustained.

Smoke billowed into the intersection as firefighters attempted to extinguish the blaze. There were three chiefs, three captains and eight firefighters on scene. Apparatus included two pumpers, one aerial, one rescue and three command units. Municipal enforcement, SaskPower, SaskEnergy, WPD Ambulance and the RCMP were also on scene.
