CARROT RIVER —The Carrot River Fire and Rescue were called to a house in Carrot River that was struck by lightning.

The call happened on the morning of July 30.

“They had a pretty big lightning storm roll through town causing some damage to the building and vehicles next to the building,” said Dylan Brody, interim fire chief.

The lightning caused a smoldering and smoke from the side of the building but no visible fire.

At this time the fire department isn’t sure of possible damage the lightning currents could have caused electronics or vehicles, but they will be investigating damage to the vehicles.

All occupants of the house were okay.

Fire and Rescue left in just over an hour.
