It was a beautiful day to celebrate Canada's 144th birthday.
Citizens of Humboldt gathered in Water Ridge Park to celebrate Canada Day on July 1.
"We're celebrating a great country," said Malcolm Eaton, mayor of Humboldt.
The day was filled with great activities for all ages.
It started with a pancake breakfast in the park. Later, the celebrations included games for kids, professional kite flying, inflatable bouncers, a magic show, wagon rides and live entertainment.
Dignitaries, Eaton and Humboldt MLA Donna Harpauer welcomed everyone to the park during the official ceremonies late in the afternoon.
"Thank you for the opportunity to wish everyone a (wonderful) Canada Day today," said Eaton.
Both explained how honoured they feel to live in Canada.
"I'm always honoured to be in my home community of Humboldt," said Harpauer.
"We are indeed blessed to be in a fabulous country... We should appreciate it more than one day and I know we do."
Eaton said it was not just a day to celebrate Canada, but Humboldt as well.
"We (should) acknowledge the many groups and organizations that make it such a great place to live," said Eaton.
"I want to say thank you for making Humboldt a great place to live."
He encouraged citizens to get involved in the community, including upcoming events like the 2012 RBC Cup and Provincial Ladies' curling.
After the speeches, everyone was treated to cake and at dusk, enjoyed a display of fireworks over Mile Lake.
