Humboldt could be the site of a private store selling legalized marijuana – if council chooses not to opt out.
The city will be among the 40 communities in the province where private businesses can apply for a permit to sell the drug. Due to the size of Humboldt, there will only be one permit available.
The sale of legalized marijuana will be regulated by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority.
