Impaired driver nabbed after fleeing vehicle

Battlefords RCMP had a busy 24 hours, responding to more than 34 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, April 25 and 6 a.m. Saturday, April 26.

Battlefords RCMP had a busy 24 hours, responding to more than 34 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, April 25 and 6 a.m. Saturday, April 26.


Among those were one false/nuisance 911 call, one false alarm and four traffic related complaints.


Friday


7:02 a.m. -Report of a fight outside on 103rd Street. Two intoxicated persons located. Unco-operative about the persons they had been fighting with who had already departed. One man treated by ambulance for a cut on his head.


1:32 p.m. - Report of a speeding blue car. Patrols made, not located.


1:37 p.m. - Report of speeding truck. Truck located and driver spoken to.


1:40 p.m. - Report of harassing phone calls. Still under investigation.


2:00 p.m. - Report of an impaired driver. Vehicle was located, and driver fled on foot from police. The 22-year-old man was located and charged with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, driving while disqualified, failure to comply with probation order, uttering threats and obstruction. He has been remanded into custody and will make his first court appearance Monday, April 28.


3:28 p.m. - Report of welfare fraud. Investigation continuing.


4:00 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated man on 13th Avenue. Patrols made, not located.


4:02 p.m. - Complaint of a quad driving up and down 109th St. Quad located and driver warned.


4:23 p.m. - Two-vehicle collision at the intersection Pioneer and Territorial Drive. Passenger of one vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. One driver charged with failing to yield.


7:00 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated man outside a business on Railway Avenue. A 41-year-old man was located and arrested for public intoxication.


7:07 p.m. - Report of a missing person, possibly suicidal. Person located and taken to hospital.


8:22 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated man walking along highway near King's Hill. The 43-year-old man was located and arrested for public intoxication.


11:05 p.m. - Complaint of intoxicated people outside a residence on 15th Avenue. A 19-year-old man was arrested and is facing charges of obstruction and breach of conditions. An 18-year-old woman was arrested and released without charges.


11:54 p.m. - Report of a domestic dispute in the 1000 block of 103rd Street. Police attended but no one located.


Saturday


12:35 a.m. - Complaint of loud party on Ross Crescent. Police attended and no one located in area and no one being loud


3:10 a.m. - Complaint of intoxicated woman kicking at a door in the 1300 block of 109th Street. A 21-year-old woman was located in breach of her conditional sentence order and will be remanded for court on Monday.


5:17 a.m. - Report of a break and enter to a business in the 1800 block of 100th Street. A 17-year-old male youth was arrested a short distance away in possession of stolen property from the business. Charges are pending.
