Saturday in Saskatoon, while the area of a crash due to impaired driving was being investigated by police, another driver, also impaired, blundered upon the scene and was charged.
A 20-year-old woman is facing three charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm following a single vehicle collision Dec. 14 on Circle Drive between 33rd Street and Airport Drive. Four other people were occupants of the vehicle at the time of the collision. Three of them suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services.
As the collision analyst unit was investigating, another vehicle approached the scene at freeway speeds, driving southbound in the northbound lanes. At the last moment, the vehicle attempted to avoid the collision area and then attempted to flee the scene before becoming blocked by barricades. The 26-year-old female driver of that vehicle was also found to be impaired. She is facing a charge of impaired driving.
