Investigation into a stolen vehicle with firearm inside

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 31, Maidstone RCMP were notified by Battlefords RCMP that a stolen F150 truck was travelling on Highway #16 towards Maidstone detachment area. The truck was reported stolen from the Humboldt area on Friday, Oct.

 At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 31, Maidstone RCMP were notified by Battlefords RCMP that a stolen F150 truck was travelling on Highway #16 towards Maidstone detachment area. The truck was reported stolen from the Humboldt area on Friday, Oct. 27 and a firearm was reported to be inside the vehicle at the time it was stolen.
 
Members responded and located the vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 16. The vehicle was stopped using a spike belt at Highway #16 and Highway 21 north of Maidstone. An adult female was arrested at the scene without incident. An adult male fled the scene – he has not been located and we do not have any descriptors available. The firearm, described as a shotgun, has not been recovered.
 
At 5:30 a.m. Oct. 31, a white Silverado was reported stolen from the community of Maidstone. The white Silverado was located later this morning on the outskirts of North Battleford.
 
No charges have been laid in relation to this investigation. The investigation is ongoing and police say they do not have any other information to release at this time.
