Earlier this month Joyce Smith was appointed manager of the Western Development Museum at the North Battleford location, where she has 25 years of experience in administration.

Smith served as acting manager for several months.

Even though she has a new title, Smith says nothing will change and all operations will run the same.

The focus of Smith and the WDM is to bring back Those Where The Days after three years of marketing alternative activities. In the coming months Smith says, the staff will come together and make long-term future plans on what the museum will give to the community.

According to Smith the WDM is a dream place for her to work. She could not say what her favourite thing is about the WDM, but if she had to choose it would be promoting tourism and working with the community.

"I am confident Joyce will provide strong and steady leadership in her role as ranch manager," said Joan Chap, executive director of the Western Development Museum.
