RM of Torch River citizens have elected a reeve and two councillors after a string of resignations sparked the need for a byelection.
Elected as reeve in the Jan. 17 byelection was Jerry Kindrat, with 189 votes. He defeated Darryl Matton, who got 119 votes, and Robert Allen, who got nine.
Ken Runn will serve as Division 4 councillor. With his 153 votes, he defeated Ellery Fehr, who got nine.
Elected as Division 5 councillor was Richard Pickett, who got 53 votes. He defeated Heinz Klassen, who got 18 votes, and Dalton Clifford, who got nine.
