St. Augustine Hall turned pink on Feb. 21 for the Humboldt and District Kinettes pancake breakfast.

With help from the Humboldt Knights of Columbus, the Kinettes wrapped up their last fundraiser before they head to Telemiracle 40 on Mar. 5-6.

The turnout was fantastic for the breakfast with 300 in attendance, said Susan Dunne with the Kinettes. The breakfast included a raffle, a Telemiracle donation station, and Telemiracle Teddy.

Knights of Columbus trustee and breakfast organizer, Dennis Berting, says the Knights just started getting involved and Telemiracle is a good cause.

“We really hadn’t done much with Telemiracle until Susan (Dunne) came along a year ago and introduced us to it.”

Twelve Knights helped out with making blueberry pancakes, sausage, fried ham, and eggs for the two breakfast crowds at 10 am and another at 11 am.

Dunne says the Knights deserve a big thanks for all their help.

“The Knights really deserve a lot of accolades because they put a lot of money into our community and aren’t recognized enough sometimes.”

As well as the Knights and Kinettes helping out, four Kinettes in training were also there to help out.

Donations have been pouring in for the Kinettes, who will be making a cheque presentation  on Mar. 6 between 8am and 9am.

Three very successful fundraisers helped the Kinettes raise their total; a steak night on Jan. 29 at the Bella Vista Inn, the ladder lift on Feb. 13 in the Sobeys parking lot, and the breakfast.

Their pink outfits and accessories made them stand out when the Kinettes answered phones at last years Telemiracle, which got them the names, the Pink Ladies. They hope to do the same this year at Telemiracle.

Dunne says to keep an eye out next year, because the Kinettes have a lot of new ideas cooking.
