North Battleford Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1552-99th St. Saturday at 7:24 p.m. The fire was quickly determined to be a minor kitchen fire, which was contained to the kitchen.
The sole occupant home at the time of the fire was taken by ambulance to hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
NBFD responded with two fire apparatus and one chief's vehicle. They were on the scene for just under one hour and 15 minutes.
Also responding were RCMP, WPD Ambulance, SaskPower and SaskEnergy.
Damage is estimated at approximately $40,000.
