Knife produced when potential car thief confronted

Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 50 calls for service between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.

Sept. 7

7:24 a.m. - White 2010 Dodge Journey with Saskatchewan licence plate 178 JEU reported stolen from 700 block of 100th Street overnight. 

9:25 a.m. - Report of a break and enter to a garage on Ross Crescent sometime over the previous evening.

10:50 a.m. - Break and enter reported to a garage on the 2400 block of 98th Street sometime over the previous week or so. Tools reported missing.

11:48 a.m. - Report of a stolen cellphone from 19th Avenue.

12:04 p.m. – Twenty-one speed mountain bike stolen from a residence on 1000 block of 104th Street sometime over previous 12 hours or so.

2:31 p.m. - Hit and run to a truck parked on 300 block of 114th Street while parked in a parking lot outside a business. 

3:11 p.m. - Volkswagen Jetta reported stolen from 1300 block of 104th Street. Vehicle was recovered just before midnight in the city.

4:14 p.m. - Report of a theft from a business on Carlton Trail. Suspect already fled from scene. Surveillance footage of incident will be made available.

6:48 p.m. - White 1983 Dodge D350 with Saskatchewan licence plate 900 JTW stolen from 500 block of 103rd Street sometime over the previous evening.

8:52 p.m. - Suspect was witnessed by owner attempting to gain entry to his vehicle on 1400 block of 109th Street. When confronted, suspect produced a small knife and made some threats before leaving. Subject is described as being about 19, 5' 11", First Nation, wearing a white T-shirt with black writing on it.

11:33 p.m. - Report of an individual attempting to gain entry to a vehicle parked on the 1800 block of 103rd Street. Perpetrator wearing a black coat with a hood and dark clothing fled riding a bike.

Sept. 8

12:24 a.m. - Report of an assault at a residence on Douglas Avenue. Perpetrator and victim are known to each other. Victim sustained minor injuries and perpetrator fled prior to incident being reported. Remains under investigation.

12:30 a.m. - Several complaints of two youth with spray cans walking in the area of the 1000 block of 108th Street and 109th Street. Subjects not located.

2:46 a.m. - Vehicle collision with a tree at Clements Drive and Henderson Drive in North Battleford. Vehicle recovered from scene and matter remains under investigation.

Police responded to one false/nuisance 911 call, one child welfare matter, five traffic investigations, 10 minor disturbance calls, one reported fraud and one missing person who has already been located.
