On Wednesday, Sept. 30, at approximately 3:15 a.m., La Ronge RCMP Detachment received the report of a firearm that caused injury to an individual at an apartment complex located on Nunn Street in La Ronge,
Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male who sustained injury from multiple gunshot wounds. Initial investigation revealed the male victim was walking alone on Far Reserve Road around midnight, when an older model grey truck pulled beside him and opened fire. It is unknown how many occupants were in the vehicle.
The victim was transported to hospital by air ambulance to Saskatoon. His injuries were reported to be non-life threatening.
At this time, officers believe this was an isolated incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
