A fundraising event is coming next month to help immigrants settling in the Battlefords area.
Living Skies Refuge is hosting a Funfair Fundraiser on March 12 at the NationsWEST Field House.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers describe it as “for the young, and young at heart,” with games, raffles, prizes, food, costumes, parades and other fun for the entire family.
The proceeds from the event will go towards sponsoring and settling refugees in the Battlefords. For more information on the event call 306-446-8719.
Living Skies Refuge was set up last year with a mission to settle immigrant families in the Battlefords. Funds are required to provide for the immigrants and their startup costs for the first full year they are here.
Their other fundraising efforts have included accepting donations and selling their 2016 calendar, with a fundraising target of $50,000.
