Effective Aug. 1, Brenda Vickers is Living Sky School Division's new director of education/CEO.

Vickers' previous role was the division’s superintendent of human resources for the past six years. Before Living Sky, she served as a human resource manager, principal, and teacher in rural and urban schools.

Vickers earned an Education degree from the University of Saskatchewan, and eventually a master's certificate in human resources administration in education from the University of Regina.

In May, previous director Randy Fox stepped into the position he retired from to act as interim director, when the board and previous director Dave Hutchison agreed to mutually terminate Hutchison's contract. Hutchison was hired as director in March. Fox helped transition Vickers into the new role.

Vickers assumes the director position amid provincial cuts to education.
