Lloydminster RCMP arrest two in connection to assault

Police say when they responded to a call, they found a woman with ‘significant injuries’.

LLOYDMINSTER – Lloydminster RCMP have arrested two individuals, including a youth, following an assault on the Saskatchewan side of the border city last week.

On July 19, officers responded to a report of an assault in the east end of the city. When officers arrived, they found an adult female victim with significant injuries. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

An investigation led police to identify and locate two suspects. Yolanda Scarlett, 38, of Lloydminster, has been charged with aggravated assault. A male youth, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces charges of assault causing bodily harm, overcoming resistance by choking, and uttering threats.

Scarlett was released on conditions after appearing before a justice of the peace and is scheduled to appearing Lloydminster Provincial Court on Aug. 18. The youth was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court.
