Loud argument over son trying to fry burgers on oven burners

The North Battleford RCMP detachment responded to more than 35 calls for service between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25.


Included in those calls were three child welfare or family relations investigations, six traffic investigations, two false alarms, two false or nuisance 911 calls and eight municipal bylaw or disturbance complaints.


Wednesday


10:15 a.m. - Called to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of 100th Street and 11th Avenue. A 41-year-old woman sustained minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle while she was crossing 100th Street westbound. The vehicle was turning north onto 100th Street from 11th Avenue and struck the pedestrian at what is believed to be a low speed. The pedestrian was transported to hospital for precautionary reasons. The 44-year-old driver of the vehicle has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian contrary to the Traffic Safety Act.


11:05 a.m. - Report of an assault which occurred on 110th Street some time in August. Statements attained and matter remains under investigation.


11:35 a.m. - Called to a business on Territorial Drive north. Caller stating there was a group of over ten people looking for her and threatening her. Upon arrival, it was learned that someone had called her a name but was no longer in area. No threats made.


12:19 p.m. - Damage to a door frame to a home on 1300 block of 107th Street reported.


5:20 p.m. - Theft of a Chevrolet Venture, brown in colour, with Saskatchewan License 004 IIY from the 1100 block of 100th Street. 


5:44 p.m. - Minor two-vehicle collision in a parking lot on Railway Avenue East reported.


7:47 p.m. - Call of four unknown persons vandalizing cars on Carlton Trail. Suspect fled area when confronted. No damaged vehicles located and patrols of area for suspects negative.


8:59 p.m. - Online fraud reported. Complainant reported an online relationship with a woman from Nigeria, who asked for cash in exchange for a cheque forwarded to complainant which subsequently bounced. Police are reminding the public to be aware of this kind of fraudulent behaviour.


10:38 p.m. - 34-year-old man removed from a home on 103rd street after a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance at location. Subject causing repeated problems for residents of the home and was entered into a peace bond to refrain from contacting complainants or returning to residence.


Thursday


12:59 a.m. - Complaint of a window being broken to an apartment building on 101st Street. An extremely intoxicated woman was located in the area but denied involvement.  32-year-old woman was arrested for public intoxication and incident remains under investigation.


2:21 a.m. - Loud argument at a residence on 102nd Street, started when the complainant returned home and found her intoxicated adult son trying to fry hamburgers directly on the oven burners, which did not go over very well. 19-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicious of an assault. Investigation ongoing.
