Spiritwood RCMP detachment have arrested without incident an individual sought in connection for firearms offences on the Witchekan Lake First Nation.
Brendon Starblanket attended the Spiritwood detachment on Aug. 23 and was arrested.
The arrest stems from an incident at 1 am on Aug. 18, when Spiritwood RCMP members were at Witchekan Lake First Nation for an unrelated investigation when they heard a firearm discharged. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
Starblanket, 18, faces charges that include one count, possession of a firearm without being the holder of a licence, one count of pointing a firearm, one count of discharge of a firearm, and one count, breach of undertaking, all Criminal Code offences.
He is to appear in North Battleford provincial court on the charges this week.
