Man charged with possession of stolen property

A Slave Lake, Alta. man was arrested after stolen property was seized from a property south of Hafford last week. According to Blaine Lake RCMP, Scott Anderson, 45, has been charged with one count of of stolen property exceeding $5,000.

A Slave Lake, Alta. man was arrested after stolen property was seized from a property south of Hafford last week.

According to Blaine Lake RCMP, Scott Anderson, 45, has been charged with one count of of stolen property exceeding $5,000. He appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday morning, and police say further charges are pending.

A search warrant was executed Thursday and Friday on the property located four kilometres south of Hafford. Blaine Lake RCMP, Saskatoon General Investigative Section and North Battleford Identification Section, executed the warrant.

As a result a large amount of stolen property was seized, say police. Included are two vehicles with a value in excess of $100,000; a semi-tractor unit and a fuel truck with 4,500 gallons of diesel fuel, copper wire, and tools, valued in excess of $60,000 to $70,000.00; and generators, power trowels, chop saws, welders, booster units, motorized power equipment, chain saws, cement seam cutters, and other items.

Police say the items recovered are linked to numerous thefts and break and enters in the areas of Blaine Lake, Hafford and Saskatoon.
