Chad Weasel, 26, appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday, charged with sexual assault following two alleged incidents Saturday evening.
According to RCMP, the first incident took place before 7 p.m. Saturday. RCMP say that a woman walking alone along a walking path near Territorial Drive and Clements Drive in North Battleford was approached by a male who attempted to engage her in conversation and followed her for a short distance. The man is then alleged to have grabbed her.
The victim was able to fight the suspect off before he fled on foot, according to police.
RCMP are also reporting that two and a half hours later another woman, walking alone on a walking path in the area of Territorial Drive and St. Laurent Drive was approached by a lone male who was intoxicated, who began to follow her and at one point allegedly approached her and made some sexual comments.
Further investigation by police led to the arrest of a man in the area a short time later.
Weasel, who also faces two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
