One co-accused arrested in connection to a violent home invasion in Unity remains in custody.
Drayden Clinton, 25, of Macklin, hasn’t been released on bail and appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court May 12. He faces multiple charges after a home invasion police say resulted in a Macklin area man being beaten with brass knuckles, a baseball bat and threatened with a machete.
Clinton is charged with unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, wearing a mask in the commission of an offence, uttering death threats, possessing ammunition while prohibited, possessing brass knuckles while prohibited, and possessing Mace while prohibited.
Clinton is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime, break and enter and commit robbery, commit bank card fraud over $5,000 and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
According to Unity RCMP, they executed a search warrant on a home in Macklin and arrested Clinton, along with Tenielle Heitt, 31, of Unity on Jan. 31. The police investigation included the home invasion in Unity and a break-in at a residence in Macklin.
RCMP say that both Heitt and Clinton were known to the victims of these offences.
Heitt appeared in Unity court on April 27. She was released from custody on Feb. 4. She is charged with unlawful confinement, break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Heitt is scheduled to appear in Unity Provincial Circuit Court on July 20 to enter a plea.
Clinton is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on May 26 for case management.
