Man found in possession of weapon during traffic stop

The North Battleford RCMP received more than 140 calls for service between the four-day period of 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11 and 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15.


Included in those calls were nine false alarms, 19 traffic complaints or occurrences, six municipal bylaw or noise complaints, nine false or nuisance 911 calls and 15 occurrences relating to child welfare. 


Monday


8:04 p.m. - While members were conducting foot patrol during parade in city, an intoxicated man was located and arrested for failing to comply with no alcohol condition. Held in custody until sober and released for future court appearance.


Tuesday


3:10 a.m. - North Battleford RCMP responded to a complaint shortly after 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12 of a shot being fired in the 1400 block of 112th Street. The area was quickly secured and initial investigation revealed that no one was injured and a window to a residence was damaged. The suspects involved fled in a mid-size, grey or silver, four-door car that also had a sunroof. The suspects and other persons involved in this incident are known to one another. The persons at the residence have been uncooperative with police investigation.


4:49 a.m. - Report of attempted theft from a vehicle. Nothing taken. Patrols to locate suspect negative.


5:36 a.m. - Report of a suspicious man walking on Highway 16 near the west edge of the city. Man was located and arrested for being intoxicated in public. He was held in custody until sober.


8:28 a.m. - Report of a theft from a business. Investigation ongoing.


11:13 a.m. - Report of stolen vehicle. Investigation ongoing.


Wednesday


116 a.m. - Report of an assault. Investigation ongoing.


12:08 p.m. - During a traffic stop of a vehicle, a man was found to be prohibited from driving and found to be in possession of a weapon. The man was arrested and was held in custody for court the next day. The man is facing charges of driving while disqualified, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of a controlled substance.


12:30 p.m. - Report of theft from an unlocked vehicle over the previous night.


11:24 p.m. - Man arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Released for future appearance in court.


11:36 p.m. - Report of several intoxicated individuals causing problems at a business. Two men and one woman were located and arrested for being intoxicated in public. All held in custody until sober.


Thursday


7:42 a.m. - Report of a stolen vehicle. Recovered short time later. Investigation ongoing.


3:09 p.m. - Members on patrol located two intoxicated individuals. Both arrested for causing a disturbance and charged. Held in custody until sober.


3:54 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated man on the street. Man located and arrested for being intoxicated in public. Held in custody until sober.


10:21 p.m. - Report of a disturbance at a residence. A woman was arrested for failing to comply with conditions. The female was held in custody to appear in court the following day.


Friday


12:41 a.m. - Report of a disturbance at a residence. A man was located and found to be breaching court ordered conditions of no alcohol and curfew. The man was held in custody to appear in court the next day.


12:46 a.m. - Report of theft from a unlocked vehicle  Members did patrols of the area in an effort to locate suspects, but they were negative.
