Update: Man sought for Cumberland House homicide

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crime Unit has charged Alvin Thomas, 39, of Cumberland House with second-degree murder and are actively trying to locate him.

Thomas is a suspect in the May 29 death of 24-year-old Marisha Hoksbergen from Cumberland House.

He is described as approximately five foot 11, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo that says ‘Pritch’ in cursive writing on the back of one hand and letters, including the initials ‘AT’ and ‘DM’ on the other hand, below his thumb.

Thomas has connections to Cumberland House, Prince Albert and Nipawin but his current whereabouts are unknown.

Information on his whereabouts should be reported to Cumberland House RCMP at 306-888-5550. Investigation began when the Cumberland House woman was taken to a local clinic where she was declared deceased.

Investigation has determined there was an altercation at a residence in the community and the victim had been injured and transported to the local clinic in a private vehicle. She was pronounced deceased by EMS.
