The Jan. 9 contest got off to an excellent start for the home side as Carson Albrecht scored at 7:47 and Kayle Tosh at 16:57 to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead after the first period of play.

Rock Ruschkowski added a second period short-handed marker to give the Mustangs a 3-0 lead, which they would hold on to the rest of the way.

Evan Plotnik picked up the shutout in the Mustangs cage turning aside all 22 shots he faced as the Mustangs outshot the Bombers 34-22.

Special teams were excellent for the Mustangs as they scored once on two opportunities with the man advantage and killed off all seven power plays against, while scoring once.

The Mustangs will look to push their winning streak to six straight on Jan. 12 when they visit the La Ronge Ice Wolves in the front half of a home-and-home series.
