Memorial motorcycle rally raises money for SPCA

It was a roaring success. The third annual Kevin Weber Memorial Run was held on August 13. The rally is organized by Weber's sister, Katrina Stelzer and husband Dave, in memory of Weber, who died of cancer in 2008 at the age of 44.

It was a roaring success.
The third annual Kevin Weber Memorial Run was held on August 13.
The rally is organized by Weber's sister, Katrina Stelzer and husband Dave, in memory of Weber, who died of cancer in 2008 at the age of 44.
Fifty-eight motorbikes and 63 riders started the rally at Discovery MotorSports in Humboldt.
The bikers went through Wakaw, Melfort, Watson and Annaheim before returning to Humboldt for a supper and wind-up at the Bella Vista Inn.
"There was $4,000 we raised at the rally," said Stelzer.
As a bonus, a bake sale put on by 10-year-olds Nicole Stelzer and Makenna Mueller raised an additional $200.
"Everybody has loads of fun," said Stelzer. "There were no problems with any of the bikes, no accidents."
This year, the money will go to the Humboldt and District SPCA. In previous years, the event donated the fund to the Canadian Cancer Society and HERO.
"Kevin never had children, but he had two cats," said Stelzer.
His one cat, Carly, died this year, so the family decided to donate to the SPCA to honour Weber's love of animals.
"The SPCA is trying to get in a new building, so we thought we would support them," said Stelzer.
