For some reason, the Frontier Mall parking lot seems to be the scene of a major accident every spring.
This year, there was another two-vehicle collision in which a number of young people were hurt, prompting the full response of WPD Ambulance, the RCMP and North Battleford Fire Department.
Two people were killed and one person was taken to hospital.
Police took one female suspected of impaired driving into custody.
As it turned out, it was all part of WPD's annual mock accident, part of their EMS activities that also included a noon lunch event Friday, and other activities. The "victims" were all from John Paul II Collegiate’s SADD group.
The event Thursday evening was designed to inform residents on how various emergency responders work at an accident scene, as well as to warn the public about the dangers of drinking and driving.
