The case against a Wahpeton Dakota Nation man charged with second-degree murder, aggravated and sexual assault was adjourned.
Nathan Waditaka, 19, had an appearance scheduled in Prince Albert Provincial Court June 18 and the matter was put over.
Waditaka has been out on bail since May 26. After granting him bail, the court imposed conditions of his release including that he must wear an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet, remain in the house 24-hours a day unless otherwise allowed to leave by his probation officer, and not go to Wahpeton Dakota Nation or Prince Albert. He was also ordered not to have contact with certain individuals, whose names are protected under a ban on publication.
Waditaka was arrested December 2019 and charged in connection to the death of Zellall Highway, 19, and the assault and sexual assault against a 17-year-old girl.
Waditaka is now scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court July 2 to elect how he wants to be tried.
