The momentum for the Credit Union CUPlex fundraising campaign continues with the release this week of the names of a number of "friends" who have contributed to the project.
The "friends" are those individuals who have given between $500 and $5,000 to the CUPlex project, sponsoring items such as seats, curling rocks, tables, TVs or other items.
Here is a list released Wednesday by the fundraising committee of those "friends" who have contributed to the CUPlex so far:
Battleford Drug Mart, Bob and Shirley Timmerman, Fabricland, Moon's Kitchen, Lakeland Veterinary Services, CJV the Carpet People, Darla and Rob Conley, Bryce and Melanie Bohun, Richard Gibbons, Nestor and Vida Brunwald, Brad and Linda Kowerchuk, TAGG Storage, Ilene Wettergreen, Gary Lund, Barry and Donna Svenkeson, Neil and Rhonda Gosling, Gordon and Joan Jackson, Battlefords Stingers, Johanne Stolz, Joe and Chris Wright, Chris and Sheri-Lyn Odishaw, Derek Schmidt's Head-shaving Group, and the 2004 Under 18 Girls Soccer Division 2 Provincial Champs.
The announcement of "friends" comes on the heels of last week's announcement by the Hammer Heads group that smaller contributions from individual donors can now be accepted on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.
The fundraising campaign has raised over $6.5 million so far and is still climbing towards a $10 million goal. People can get more information and continue to chart the progress of the fundraising campaign at raisetheroofbattlefords.com.
The success of the fundraising campaign so far has not been lost on others in the community. At their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday of the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce, directors were impressed with the fundraising totals, which have kept on going up and up.
The directors remarked there was no doubt about the community's support given how much money continues to come in for the project.
